What Does Netsuite Cost: Startup & Ongoing Costs

Updated  3 sources

Typical annual license cost

$50,000 – $150,000/yr

NetSuite is Oracle's cloud ERP system. Companies use it for accounting, inventory, order management, billing and reporting. Unlike most business software, it has no public price list. Oracle builds each quote from the edition, the number of users, the modules and the contract length, so there is no single number to point to.

That means every figure on this page is a third-party estimate from consulting firms and research sites, not an official Oracle price. The estimates overlap enough to give a useful picture, but they differ on the details, and your own quote can land outside them. The most reliable way to get an exact number is to ask Oracle or an authorized NetSuite partner for a quote based on your requirements.

NetSuite costs have three parts: a base platform fee, a per-user license, and everything around them, including modules and the work of setting the system up. The sections below take each in turn.

NetSuite base platform fee

The base fee covers the core platform. Estimates start near the same figure at the low end and diverge for larger editions.

Base platform fee, per month

Item Typical range Price Relative price range
EPIQ Infotech: base platform license $999 – $5,000/mo—
ERP Research: base platform fee —$999/mo
SoftwareConnect: Starter and Standard bundles $2,500 – $5,000/mo—
SoftwareConnect: Premium tiers $5,000 – $10,000/mo—

Sources: EPIQ Infotech: NetSuite pricing; ERP Research: NetSuite pricing; SoftwareConnect: NetSuite pricing

Starter editions suit small businesses with a single entity and a short list of users. Mid-market and premium editions cost more because they allow more users, more transactions and more complex setups, such as multiple entities. Which edition you land in depends on your size and needs, and Oracle decides it during quoting.

NetSuite cost per user

On top of the base fee, you pay for each named user.

License cost per user, per month

Item Typical range Price Relative price range
EPIQ Infotech: full user license $125 – $199/mo—
ERP Research: per-user range $99 – $199/mo—
SoftwareConnect: per-user license —$129/mo
EPIQ Infotech: employee self-service license $15 – $25/mo—

Sources: EPIQ Infotech: NetSuite pricing; ERP Research: NetSuite pricing; SoftwareConnect: NetSuite pricing

A full user has access to the whole system. Employee self-service licenses are cheaper and cover people who only submit expenses, time or requests. One source mentions a minimum number of full users. Another reports that Oracle raised full-user prices during 2025, which many customers noticed at renewal. Because the sources were published at different times, their ranges do not match exactly.

The mix of user types can change the bill more than the headcount. A company with a small finance team that needs full access and many staff who only approve or submit items may save by using self-service licenses for the second group.

Implementation and one-time costs

Setting up NetSuite is usually a separate project. It includes configuration, data migration, integrations and training, often handled by a partner.

Implementation, one-time

Item Typical range
EPIQ Infotech: implementation $25,000 – $150,000

Source: EPIQ Infotech: NetSuite pricing

The estimate here is one source's range, and it excludes unusually large rollouts. A simple setup costs far less than a multi-subsidiary project. The timeline also varies, from a few months to more than a year in some cases, according to published guides.

Modules and other annual costs

Modules extend the base platform. Examples include advanced inventory, manufacturing, CRM, ecommerce and revenue recognition. Estimates treat them as separate subscriptions.

Annual costs

Item Typical range
EPIQ Infotech: add-on modules, combined $5,000 – $30,000/yr

Source: EPIQ Infotech: NetSuite pricing

The range is wide because the combination of modules differs from one company to another. Other recurring costs, such as support, integrations and consulting, may add to the total. Industry guides also report that prices can rise at renewal, so ask about renewal terms when you negotiate.

What affects the NetSuite price

  • Edition and company size, which set the base platform fee.
  • Number and type of users, since full licenses cost more than self-service.
  • Modules, which are priced separately.
  • Contract length. Longer commitments can lower the rate, according to some guides.
  • Implementation scope, including data migration and integrations.
  • Negotiation. Because every deal is private, two similar companies can pay different amounts.

How to estimate your own cost

Start with a list of users and what each one needs to do. Separate people who need full access from those who only need self-service. List the modules you require now and those you may add. Then ask two or three NetSuite partners for quotes, since partners can package licenses and services differently. Compare the first-year total with the cost in later years, because the implementation fee falls away after year one.

Tips for controlling cost

  • Define your requirements before talking to sales.
  • Ask for quotes in writing, with licenses and services listed separately.
  • Negotiate the renewal uplift and the term at the same time as the first price.
  • Phase in modules rather than buying everything on day one.
  • Use cheaper license types where they fit.

Frequently asked questions

How much does NetSuite cost per month?

Estimates put the base platform fee at $999 – $5,000/mo per month, plus a per-user fee. The exact amount depends on your edition and users.

How much does NetSuite cost per user?

Estimates for a full user range from $125 – $199/mo to $99 – $199/mo, depending on the source. Employee self-service licenses are lower, at $15 – $25/mo.

One source estimates $25,000 – $150,000 as a one-time cost for a typical project. Larger and more complex rollouts may exceed that.

Is NetSuite worth the cost for a small business?

That depends on your size and complexity. Small companies with simple needs may find lighter accounting tools sufficient, while growing companies with several entities often consider ERP systems. A licensed accountant or an independent ERP consultant can help you decide.

Can I get NetSuite for less than the estimate?

Negotiation, contract length and license mix can change the price. Ask for several quotes before you decide.
