Power Automate Premium License Cost: Average Fees Explained

Updated  2 sources

Power Automate Premium price

$15/mo

Power Automate is Microsoft's workflow tool for connecting apps and automating repetitive tasks. Many Microsoft 365 plans already include basic cloud flows with standard connectors. A paid license comes into play when a flow uses a premium connector, runs a desktop robot, or needs to run unattended without a person signed in.

Microsoft sells three paid licenses, and they are priced on different units. Premium is priced per user. The Process and Hosted Process licenses are priced per bot. Process mining is an add-on priced per tenant. Mixing up those units is the most common way to misjudge the bill.

The prices below are published by Microsoft and were checked on Oct 14, 2026. The pricing page shows no revision date, and Microsoft may adjust prices or show a different amount for your market, so confirm on the official page before you buy.

Microsoft lists this rate as paid yearly, so expect a yearly commitment rather than a pay as you go price.

What does unattended automation cost?

Unattended robotic process automation, where a desktop flow runs with nobody signed in, is licensed per bot. A Process license is $150/mo for each bot, and a Hosted Process license is $215/mo for each bot. The Hosted version runs on a virtual machine that Microsoft manages, which removes the need to maintain your own machine.

A bot can run one unattended desktop flow at a time on a machine, so a team that needs several flows running at once needs several bots. Independent coverage lines up with Microsoft here: Zapier describes unattended bots as running from $150/mo to $215/mo.

Is process mining included?

No. Process mining is sold as an add-on for the Premium plan, at $5,000/mo for each tenant, paid yearly. It is aimed at larger organizations that want to analyze how their processes run, so most individuals and small teams will never need it.

Premium or Process: which license do you need?

Choose Premium when the people building and running flows are known users who sign in. Typical cases are flows that call a premium connector, such as a CRM, or that automate a desktop app while the employee is at the computer.

Choose a Process license when a flow has to run on its own, on a schedule or a trigger, with no one signed in. In that setup the license attaches to the bot rather than a person. A team can end up with both: Premium licenses for the people who build flows and Process licenses for the bots that run them.

What else can raise the cost

  • Extra Dataverse storage. Each license includes a database and file allowance, and larger needs may cost more.
  • More concurrent bots, since each bot runs one unattended flow at a time.
  • Agent features through Copilot Studio, which Microsoft prices separately.
  • Tax and reseller markup, if you buy through a partner instead of directly.

Ask your Microsoft partner or administrator which of your existing licenses already covers premium connectors. Some Microsoft plans include limited use rights, and counting those before you buy can save you from paying twice.
