Google Cloud Price: Plans, Monthly Cost & Price History
New customer credit
$300
New Google Cloud customers get a $300 welcome credit, and everything after that is billed by usage.
Google Cloud does not have a single monthly price. Its services are billed by what you use: compute time, storage, queries, network traffic, and dozens of other line items. A small test project can cost nothing, while a busy production system can cost a great deal, and the same service can be priced differently by region.
That is why this page shows the free credits and a few official example rates instead of a monthly estimate. The figures come from Google Cloud's own pricing pages, including Google Cloud, checked on Oct 14, 2026. The pages show no date of their own and rates change, so use Google's pricing calculator and your billing console for a real forecast.
Google Cloud free credits and free tier
New customers can try the platform before paying. The trial gives you a welcome credit that you spend on covered products, and a separate free tier covers limited usage of selected products.
Free credits and free tier
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Free Trial welcome credit (valid 90 days) | $300 |
| GKE free tier monthly credit (one zonal or Autopilot cluster) | $74.40/mo |
Sources: Google Cloud: Free Trial and Free Tier features; Google Cloud: GKE pricing
The welcome credit is $300, valid for 90 days. Separately, Google Kubernetes Engine includes a free tier credit of $74.40/mo per billing account, which Google says is equivalent to one free zonal or Autopilot cluster. Unused free tier credits do not roll over.
Google Cloud example prices
These are a few list rates from Google's pricing pages, to show how different services are measured. Each uses a different unit, which is part of why a total is hard to guess.
Example service prices
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| BigQuery on-demand queries, per TiB (first 1 TiB per month free) | $6.25 |
| GKE cluster management fee, per cluster | $0.10/hr |
| Cloud DNS standard queries, per million (first billion) | $0.40 |
Sources: Google Cloud: GKE pricing; Google Cloud: BigQuery pricing; Google Cloud: Cloud DNS pricing
BigQuery charges $6.25 per TiB for on-demand queries, after the first TiB each month, which is free. Cloud DNS standard queries cost $0.40 per million queries on the first billion queries each month. A Google Kubernetes Engine cluster carries a management fee of $0.10/hr per cluster, charged in one-second increments.
What drives a Google Cloud bill
- Compute. Virtual machines and containers are billed for the time they run and the size you choose.
- Storage. You pay for the data you keep, and the rate depends on the storage class and location.
- Data processing. Services such as BigQuery bill by the amount of data you scan or store.
- Network traffic. Data leaving Google Cloud or moving between regions is charged.
- Region. The same service can have different rates in different locations.
- Discounts. Committing to usage for a set term can lower rates, and Google describes these options on each service page.
How to estimate your own cost
List the services you plan to use, then open each service's pricing page and note the unit it charges by. Enter your expected usage into Google's pricing calculator, choose the region you will run in, and save the estimate. Add a safety margin for traffic and storage growth, since those tend to creep up.
Once you are running, open the billing reports and group them by service to see where money goes. Google's own example shows a billing report grouped by SKU, which makes unexpected charges easier to spot.
How to avoid surprise charges
Set a budget with alerts in Cloud Billing so you hear about spending before the invoice arrives. Shut down resources you are not using, because a forgotten virtual machine or cluster keeps billing. Check which products the free tier and trial credit actually cover before you rely on them, as not every service qualifies. A consultant or a Google Cloud partner can help you size a production project before you commit.
