Cricut Explore Air 2 Price: Retail, Deals & Price History

The Cricut Explore Air 2 is a cutting machine for paper, vinyl, and similar craft materials. Cricut has moved on to newer Explore models, and its own website now shows the Explore Air 2 only as a certified refurbished product. That changes how you should think about its price.

The numbers on this page come from cricut.com listings checked on the date shown. The listings were marked out of stock, so the prices describe what Cricut lists, not a guarantee that you can buy at that price today.

Not by Cricut, based on its site. The Explore Air 2 listings on cricut.com are for certified refurbished units. A refurbished machine is inspected and tested and sold with Cricut's warranty terms, which are described on the product page. New units may still turn up at other retailers or from resellers, but those are separate from Cricut's own pricing, and stock can run out.

If you find a new Explore Air 2 elsewhere, compare it to Cricut's refurbished price and check the seller's return policy and warranty. A very low price from an unfamiliar seller deserves extra caution.

The machine alone is listed at $149 as a certified refurbished unit. The product page also shows a higher price next to it, which looks like a previous or regular price. A refurbished bundle that adds a set of starter supplies is listed at $289. Bundles change what is in the box, so the gap between the two prices reflects extra items rather than a different machine.

The current model in the Explore line is the Explore 5. Cricut lists the machine alone at $199, with bundles that add supplies and an optional subscription at higher prices. Cricut also lists certified refurbished Explore 4 and Explore 3 machines.

Two details help when you compare. The refurbished Explore 4 is listed at $249 and the refurbished Explore 3 at $319, which are higher than the refurbished Explore Air 2. Refurbished status and age both affect pricing, so a newer model is not always the more expensive one.

Because Cricut has stopped listing a new Explore Air 2, there is no single current list price to quote. What exists is a refurbished price, older prices in articles, and whatever resellers charge. Treat any number from an undated article with caution.

• New or refurbished. Cricut sells the Explore Air 2 only as refurbished.
• Bundles. Machines sold with tools, blades, mats, and materials cost more than the machine alone.
• Subscription offers. Some bundles include a Cricut Access subscription, which adds to the price.
• Stock. When Cricut is out of stock, resellers may charge more or less.
• Seller. Marketplace sellers may offer different warranty terms than Cricut.

Decide what you plan to make. The Explore Air 2 is aimed at paper crafts, cards, labels, and similar projects. Check whether your materials and project size fit the machine's cutting capacity. Look at the warranty period on a refurbished unit, the return window, and whether the bundle includes the tools you would otherwise have to buy.

Do not forget ongoing costs. Blades, mats, and materials are separate purchases, and some designs in Cricut's software need a subscription.
