Corvette C7 Price: MSRP, Trims & Real-World Cost

Updated  6 sources

2017 original MSRP

$56,445 – $66,445

The C7 is the seventh-generation Chevrolet Corvette, sold from the 2014 model year through 2019. The lineup included the Stingray, the Grand Sport, the Z06, and the ZR1, with coupe and convertible body styles and several equipment levels. Each combination carried its own price, so "C7 Corvette price" can mean very different things depending on which car you have in mind.

This page covers what the C7 cost new for several 2017 and 2018 configurations, then recent used sales of individual cars. The two are separated because original MSRP is a fixed historical figure, while used prices change with the market.

C7 Corvette price when new

MSRP is the manufacturer's suggested retail price. It excludes destination, taxes, registration, and options added after the base configuration. The rows below show several trims and body styles across two model years.

Original MSRP

Item Price
2017 Stingray 1LT $56,445
2017 Stingray 3LT $66,190
2017 Grand Sport $66,445
2018 Stingray 1LT coupe $56,590
2018 Stingray 3LT convertible $70,335

Equipment level made a big difference. Chevrolet sold the Stingray in 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT packages, each adding features over the last. The 3LT cost thousands more than the 1LT in 2017, as the first rows show. The Grand Sport started at a bit more than the 3LT Stingray, and the convertible cost more than the coupe in the same trim, as the 2018 rows show.

Stingray vs. Grand Sport price

The Grand Sport sat above the Stingray and below the Z06. Compared on the same year and equipment level, the Grand Sport carried a higher sticker than the matching Stingray. If you are weighing the two, compare cars of the same year and options so you are not mixing trim levels.

Used C7 Corvette price: recent sales

The used market for the C7 is broad, and prices vary by model. The results below are individual completed sales on Bring a Trailer, an online auction site. Each is one car on one day, not an average.

Auction and resale

Item Price
2014 Stingray 3LT Z51 7-speed, 17k miles $38,002
2017 Stingray 7-speed, 3,700 miles $45,000
2017 Grand Sport coupe, 11k miles $51,000
2016 Z06 Z07 7-speed, 12k miles $72,500

Reading the labels, you can see the pattern. The Stingray cars sold in the high thirties to mid forties. The Grand Sport sold above them, and the Z06 with the Z07 performance package sold well above the rest. Mileage and year differ from car to car, though, so these results illustrate a range and do not predict what any one car will bring.

Note that the 2014 Stingray in the list sold for less than any of the 2017 and 2018 original MSRPs shown above, which is expected given the age and mileage difference. Compare only cars of the same model year and similar mileage when you judge a price.

What affects C7 Corvette prices

  • Model. The Stingray, Grand Sport, Z06, and ZR1 occupy different price levels.
  • Model year. Later cars and special editions can bring more than earlier ones.
  • Equipment level. The 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT packages, and options such as the Z51 performance package, change both the original price and resale value.
  • Transmission. The seven-speed manual is preferred by some buyers; an automatic appeals to others.
  • Mileage and condition. Low-mileage cars with clean histories usually bring more.
  • Body style. Coupes and convertibles are priced differently, and demand varies by region and season.
  • Modifications. Aftermarket changes narrow the buyer pool and can lower resale value.

What to check before buying a used C7

Order a vehicle history report to check for accidents and title issues. Then have an independent mechanic familiar with Corvettes inspect the car before you buy. Ask for service records, and look at tires, brakes, and signs of track use, especially on Z06 and Z07-equipped cars. Check open recalls by entering the VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, and confirm the title is clear.

Ask the seller about any warranty coverage that remains. Coverage can differ by age, mileage, and ownership history, and a Chevrolet dealer can tell you what applies to a given VIN. Extended service plans vary a lot in what they cover, so read the contract before you sign.

Ownership costs to plan for

Beyond the purchase price, a Corvette carries the usual costs of fuel, insurance, tires, and service. High-performance models tend to wear tires and brakes faster. Insurance premiums depend on the driver, location, and model, so request a quote on the specific VIN. Ask a Chevrolet service department or an independent specialist what routine service costs in your area, since these prices are not fixed by the manufacturer.
