Volkswagen Atlas Price: MSRP, Trims & Real-World Cost

The Atlas is Volkswagen's three-row SUV, built at the company's plant in Tennessee for the US market. For 2027, the lineup runs from the SE up to the SEL Premium R-Line, and several trims come with a choice of front-wheel or 4Motion all-wheel drive.

The entry point is the SE FWD at $41,610. The SE 4Motion AWD is $43,610. The SE with Technology comes next, at $45,610 with front-wheel drive and $47,610 with AWD.

The upper trims are AWD only. The SEL R-Line 4Motion is $52,110, and the SEL Premium R-Line 4Motion tops the range at $56,610.

Notice that drivetrain choice is a flat step on the SE and the SE with Technology. Moving between the SE and the SE with Technology is the same size of step, and the jump to the SEL R-Line is the largest.

The 2026 Atlas SE FWD started at $39,300, according to autoevolution. The 2027 SE FWD is $41,610. If you are comparing the two model years, check whether a leftover 2026 is still on a dealer's lot, and ask for the sticker, because the price you see depends on the dealer's discount and any equipment differences between the years.

Volkswagen lists $1,525 for destination on all 2027 Atlas trims. It is a separate line from the MSRP and shows on the window sticker.

Only the SE and SE with Technology give you a choice. The AWD versions cost more: compare $41,610 with $43,610 on the SE, and $45,610 with $47,610 on the SE with Technology.

AWD makes the most sense in snowy or wet climates, or if you tow or drive on loose surfaces. If you live where roads stay dry most of the year, FWD saves money upfront. Check towing capacity and any limits on Volkswagen's site if hauling a trailer matters to you.
