Tcgplayer Price Guide: Current Values & Sales
Marketplace commission
10.75%
TCGplayer charges most sellers a marketplace commission of 10.75%, per TCGplayer Help Center. Pro and Direct sellers pay different rates, and a transaction fee applies on top.
People who search for a TCGplayer price guide are often asking one of two questions: what a card is worth, or what it costs to sell it. This page covers the second one. It lays out the seller fees published in the TCGplayer Help Center so you can work out how much of a sale you keep.
Fees are the part of the price that sellers pay and buyers do not see. A seller who sets a price without counting them can lose a large share of a low-value sale. The sections below walk through each fee and show where it applies.
Seller fees
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Marketplace commission (Level 1-4) | 10.75% |
| Marketplace commission (Pro seller) | 9.25% |
| Pro fee (Pro seller) | 2.5% |
| Transaction fee (percent of order total) | 2.5% |
| Commission cap per product sold | $75 |

TCGplayer seller fees
For sellers at Levels 1 through 4, the marketplace commission is 10.75% of the sale. Pro sellers pay a lower commission of 9.25%, but they also pay a Pro fee of 2.5%. A transaction fee of 2.5% of the order total applies as well, and the commission has a cap of $75 per product sold.
All of these come from TCGplayer Help Center, the official fee page. Because the page is maintained by TCGplayer, it is the place to confirm the current rates before you list.
How the commission cap works
The cap limits the commission on a single product. A seller who sells a very expensive card pays the percentage up to the cap, and nothing more in commission on that product, which makes the effective rate lower on high-value items. The cap applies to the commission itself. It does not remove the transaction fee, which is calculated on the order total.
For most cards the cap is irrelevant, because the commission stays under it. It matters only for high-value singles or sealed products.
Direct and international sellers
Sellers who use TCGplayer Direct and sellers outside the United States face a different structure.
Direct and international
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Marketplace commission (Direct seller) | 8.95% |
| Direct fee per card above $2.49 | $1.12 each |
| Direct fee on cards $2.49 or less (share of card value) | 50% |
| International seller PayPal processing fee | 2% |
| International transaction fee | 3.5% |
Source: TCGplayer Help Center: Fees
Direct sellers pay a marketplace commission of 8.95%. They also pay a per-card fee of $1.12 each on cards above the low-value threshold shown in the table. For cards at or below that threshold, the fee is 50% of the card's value instead of a flat amount.
International sellers face a PayPal processing fee of 2% and an international transaction fee of 3.5%. These are listed separately from the domestic fees above, so an international seller should add them to the commission when calculating a net payout.
Recent commission change
An independent fee guide, TCG Drop Radar, reports that the marketplace commission rose in February 2026. It lists the commission after the increase at 10.75%, up from 10.25% before.
Independent guides
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Marketplace commission after Feb 10, 2026 increase | 10.75% |
| Marketplace commission before Feb 2026 increase | 10.25% |
That matters if you are using an older fee calculator or a seller guide written before the change. The official Help Center page is the authority, so check it against anything you find elsewhere. Third-party guides are useful for summaries but can lag behind updates.
How fees affect a sale
The total cost of selling is the sum of the commission, the transaction fee, any per-card fee, and shipping costs you pay. A rough approach to working out what you keep:
- Take the sale price of the card or order.
- Subtract the commission percentage that applies to your seller level.
- Subtract the transaction fee on the order total.
- Subtract any per-card fee, if you sell through Direct.
- Subtract your shipping and packaging costs.
The result is your net. On a low-value card, the flat fees and shipping can consume most of the sale price, which is why sellers often group inexpensive singles into larger orders.
Choosing between seller levels
TCGplayer's seller levels differ in the fees and the requirements attached to them. A few points help when comparing:
- Level 1 through 4 sellers share one commission rate in the published fees.
- Pro sellers pay a lower commission and an additional Pro fee, so whether Pro costs less depends on your sales volume and order totals.
- Direct sellers send inventory to TCGplayer and pay the Direct fee structure, which includes a per-card amount.
The right level depends on how much you sell and how much work you want to do on shipping. Run your typical order through each fee schedule before deciding. The help page explains the requirements for each level.
What buyers pay
Buyers see the listed card price and shipping. The commission and transaction fees are paid by sellers from their proceeds, so they do not show up as a separate line on the buyer's side. Shipping rates and any tax are set by the order and the buyer's location. If you are comparing the price of a card on TCGplayer with another store, include shipping on both and remember that sellers who pay fees may price accordingly.
Tips for checking current rates
- Open the TCGplayer Help Center fee page and read the section for your seller level.
- Check the date on any third-party calculator before relying on it.
- Test your fee calculation against a real order's payout statement.
- Recheck rates after a platform announcement, since commissions can change.
