Septum Piercing Cost: Current Prices & Fees

A septum piercing quote has two pieces: the piercer's service fee and the jewelry. Some studios list them separately, and others quote a starting total. Reading which one a price refers to keeps you from comparing a service fee against a total.

The figures come from several studio price lists plus Booksy, checked Oct 11, 2026. They cover a handful of shops, and what you pay depends on your city and the studio.

The service fee covers the procedure itself. In our data it runs from $40 to $60.

When jewelry is part of the price, the total moves up.

Infinite Body gives its total as a range because the price depends on the jewelry you choose. Adorn Body Art lists a starting price with jewelry included.

Jewelry makes up much of the difference between a service fee and a total.

Starter jewelry is usually the shop's basic option. Gold or a decorative piece costs more. Ask what the starter piece is made of and what it costs to change it later.

• Studio and city. A specialty shop in a large city may charge more than a small-town shop.
• Jewelry material and style.
• Whether the quote is the service alone or the service plus jewelry.
• Anatomy. Your piercer decides whether a septum piercing is right for your nose, and any extra consultation or a different placement may affect the quote.
• Tips, which are common and separate from the listed price.

A septum piercing is priced in the same general band as a nostril piercing in our data, and some studios charge slightly more. Prices vary by shop, so ask for the septum quote specifically.

Follow your piercer's aftercare instructions. See a doctor if you notice signs of infection, such as swelling, heat, or discharge. Ask whether a jewelry change or a follow-up check costs extra.

Ask exactly what is covered before you book.

• The service: the piercer's time and the procedure.
• Starter jewelry: included in some quotes and separate in others.
• Aftercare supplies: some shops include them.
• Not included: tips and sales tax.

Infinite Body's total is a range because the final number depends on the jewelry you pick. Expect the same at other shops.

• A professional piercing studio is the usual choice, and one with a posted price list makes comparing easier.
• A tattoo shop with a piercer follows a similar model.
• Not every store that does ear piercing does septum piercing, so ask.

Read recent reviews, ask about sterile practices, and check the jewelry material.

• Is my anatomy suited to a septum piercing?
• What does the quote include?
• What is the starter jewelry made of?
• What does it cost to switch jewelry later?
• Is there a charge for a follow-up visit?
• What aftercare do you recommend?

Follow your piercer's aftercare instructions. If you see signs of infection, see a doctor.

• Start with the shop's basic jewelry.
• Ask for a total.
• Compare a few local shops.
• Hold off on costly jewelry until you are ready.

A lower price is not worth it if the shop's practices are poor.

Plan for aftercare supplies, jewelry changes, and any replacement post. Ask the shop what is included in the price and what costs extra.
