17 Pro Price: Retail, Deals & Price History
Launch price range
$1,099 – $1,999
When the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max launched they cost $1,099 – $1,999 depending on model and storage, per MacRumors. Apple has since stopped selling both phones new.
The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max were Apple's top phones from September 2025 until the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max arrived a year later. Reports from the September 2026 launch say Apple discontinued both older Pro models, so Apple no longer lists them for new purchase. The prices on this page are therefore launch prices, kept here as history for anyone comparing an older receipt, a used listing, or a trade-in.
If you want a Pro phone from Apple's store today, the current models are the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, covered at the end of this page.

Can you still buy a new iPhone 17 Pro?
Not from Apple. The phone is no longer part of Apple's current US lineup. Some carriers or retailers may still have leftover stock, but supply of a discontinued phone is limited and unpredictable, and prices there are set by the seller.
Refurbished and used units are the other option. Apple's own refurbished store may carry them at times, and third party sellers do as well. Prices vary with condition, storage, and carrier lock status, and this page does not list a figure for them. If you go that route, confirm the phone is unlocked or compatible with your carrier, check the battery condition, and ask about a return window and warranty.
What the launch price does and does not tell you
A launch price is a ceiling reference, not a market value. Used phones usually sell below their original price, and the gap depends on condition and demand.
Launch prices are still handy for one comparison. They show how much of a premium Apple charged for the Pro tier over the standard iPhone, and how much extra each storage step cost at the time.
Checking a used or refurbished listing
If a seller quotes a price for a used iPhone 17 Pro, ask which storage tier it is, because the launch table shows how far apart the tiers were. Confirm that the phone is unlocked, that it has no activation lock, and that the seller allows returns. Apple's own support pages explain how to check a phone's status before you buy.
Current replacements
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max replaced these phones in Apple's lineup. Both start at 256GB, like the models they replaced.
