Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition Price: Retail, Deals & Price History

Fallout 4 is Bethesda's open-world role-playing game set in a post-nuclear Boston. It is sold in several editions, and the Anniversary Edition is the most complete one. The price depends on whether you are buying from scratch or upgrading a copy you already have.

The prices here are list prices. Fallout 4 is discounted often, and during this check both Steam and the PlayStation Store showed sales well below the amounts listed. Sale prices are left out so the numbers stay useful when a promotion ends.

Steam and the PlayStation Store sell the same three tiers: the base game, the Game of the Year edition, and the Anniversary Edition.

According to the PlayStation Store, the Game of the Year edition and the Anniversary Edition include the six official add-ons. The Anniversary Edition also adds the Creation Club content bundled in the Anniversary package. Check each store page for the exact contents of the edition you are considering.

If you already own Fallout 4, you may not need to buy the full Anniversary Edition. Both stores sell an upgrade.

The upgrade price matches across Steam and the PlayStation Store. Whether the upgrade or the full edition is cheaper depends on what you already own, so compare the upgrade against the difference between your edition and the Anniversary Edition.

• Starting fresh: Compare the Game of the Year edition and the Anniversary Edition. The Anniversary Edition costs more because it adds more content.
• You own the base game: Look at the Anniversary Upgrade first.
• You own the Game of the Year edition: The Anniversary Upgrade may apply, so check the store page for eligibility.

The PlayStation Store lists the game for PS4 and PS5, and the PS5 version supports DualSense vibration and trigger effects, according to the listing. The store also showed the standard Fallout 4 as included with a PlayStation Plus Extra subscription, so a subscription may cover the base game. That is a separate monthly cost and a rotating catalog.

• Sales: Frequent and large. This page lists regular prices.
• Edition: The Anniversary Edition costs more than the base game and the Game of the Year edition.
• Upgrade versus full edition: What you already own decides which is cheaper.
• Region: US pricing applies to US accounts.

Prices on this page come from Steam and PlayStation Store.

The Anniversary Edition and the Anniversary Upgrade are easy to confuse. The edition is a full purchase that includes the game. The upgrade is an add-on for people who already own the base game or a compatible edition.

Look at your library on Steam or your PlayStation account before you buy. If you already own the base game, the upgrade is usually the cheaper route. If you do not, compare the edition prices in the table above.

The store pages also list a bundle that pairs the Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition with Skyrim. That bundle is a separate purchase, and its price is on the store page, so look there if you want both games.

The editions are the same in name on Steam and the PlayStation Store, and the list prices match, so the choice usually comes down to platform. If you play on a PC, Steam also lists the game as a base title and a Game of the Year edition. If you play on PlayStation, the store page covers both PS4 and PS5 with the same purchase.

Mods are a common reason people pick the PC version, and the Creation Club content mentioned in the edition description is a separate thing from mods. Read the store description to see which content is included in each edition before you decide that the Anniversary Edition is the one you need.
