PC Price: Retail, Deals & Price History

A desktop PC can be a small box for email and streaming or a large tower built for creative work or games. The price follows the parts inside it and, for all-in-ones, the screen attached to it. Apple's desktops add a second pricing system, and in June 2026 Apple raised many of its list prices.

The models and prices below come from reviews and roundups, with Apple's increase as reported by 9to5Mac and Tom's Hardware. Dates are noted where a price was published before the increase.

Tom's Guide puts a long-lasting desktop between $700 and $2,000, and says demanding work such as 4K video editing, high-end gaming and local AI workloads costs more than that. The low end buys a machine for everyday use. The high end buys more memory, storage and processing power.

Windows Central's guide, published in May 2026, lists a range from compact mini PCs to all-in-ones.

The Acer Aspire TC-1775 starts at $572 with 8GB of RAM and $649 with 16GB, and the reviewer prefers the 16GB version. The Geekom IT13 mini PC with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB drive starts at $599. The Dell Tower Plus starts at about $1,049 on Dell's site, and the Lenovo Yoga AIO 27 all-in-one is $1,269 in the configuration the guide recommends. The guide dates from May 2026, so check current prices before you buy.

Apple's Mac mini with the M6 chip, 16GB of memory and a 256GB drive is $899, per Tom's Hardware. Before the June 2026 increases, the base Mac mini with the M4 chip cost $599. The M5 Pro Mac mini with 24GB of memory and a 512GB drive is $1,699. The 24-inch iMac is $1,499, and the Mac Studio with the M4 Max is $2,499, per 9to5Mac.

• Mini PC: Small and quiet, usually with limited room to upgrade. The Geekom IT13 and the Mac mini are examples.
• Tower: A full-size case with room for more storage and a graphics card. The Dell Tower Plus is an example of a configurable tower.
• All-in-one: A screen and computer in one unit, which saves desk space. The Lenovo Yoga AIO 27 and the iMac are examples.

Towers are the most upgradable, and all-in-ones are the hardest to change after you buy.

Memory and storage come first. In 2026 they have been a major driver of cost, so a configuration with more of either can add a large step. The processor and graphics card come next. A machine with integrated graphics costs less than one with a dedicated card. Operating system and brand matter too, since Apple prices differently from Windows makers.

Peripherals are a separate cost. Some of the machines above include a keyboard and mouse, such as the Acer Aspire, but a monitor is often extra unless you buy an all-in-one.

Decide what the machine is for, then choose the memory and storage you need now. Look at the ports, since a mini PC or all-in-one may offer fewer than a tower. Compare an Apple desktop with a Windows one by configuration, not by name, because the base models differ in memory and storage.
