Vbucks Price: Retail, Deals & Price History

V-Bucks are the in-game currency in Fortnite. You buy them in fixed packs, and the number of V-Bucks in each pack changed in March 2026, so older price guides can be out of date.

The figures here are US pack prices as reported by gaming press when Epic made the change. Epic can adjust packs again, and console, mobile, and gift card purchases can show different amounts, so check the in-game store or the platform store before you pay.

Epic lists four standard packs for US players.

The change that took effect on March 19, 2026, left the dollar price of each pack the same and reduced how many V-Bucks it contains. Before the change, the smallest pack held 1,000 V-Bucks, and now it holds 800. The larger packs shrank too, so the cost of a single V-Buck went up.

Epic's published table compared the previous and new amounts for each pack. The smallest pack dropped from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks, the second from 2,800 to 2,400, the third from 5,000 to 4,500, and the largest from 13,500 to 12,500. The pack prices stayed the same, so each pack now buys less than it did before.

Epic paired the change with Epic Rewards cashback on purchases made through Epic's payment system, according to coverage of the announcement. The cashback comes back as store credit, not as V-Bucks, so it lowers the effective cost of a later purchase rather than the price shown at checkout. Check Epic's current terms for what qualifies.

• Buy to match what you want: Check an item's V-Bucks price in the store, then pick the smallest pack that covers it.
• Avoid leftovers: A pack that exceeds what you need leaves V-Bucks in your account, which is fine if you plan to buy more items later.
• Compare platforms: Console stores, mobile stores, and gift cards can price the same pack differently.

Epic also sells an exact amount option that lets you buy the number of V-Bucks you need, at a higher rate per V-Buck than the packs, according to the same coverage.

• Pack size: Larger packs cost more in total.
• Platform: Purchases through a platform store may not match Epic's own prices.
• Epic adjustments: Epic has changed V-Bucks packs before and may again.
• Region: US dollar prices apply to US accounts.

Figures on this page come from TechRadar.

V-Bucks can be bought through Epic's own payment system, through platform stores, and through gift cards. The price of the same pack can differ between them, because platform stores set their own terms. Epic Rewards cashback applies to purchases made through Epic's payment system, according to the coverage, so it may not apply if you buy through a platform store.

Gift cards are another route. Read the card's terms before you buy one.

Kids and teens often ask for V-Bucks. Parental controls on consoles and in Epic accounts can set spending limits, and Epic describes them on its support site.

Before buying, write down the V-Bucks price of the item you want, then match it to a pack. Because the pack sizes changed, a total you remembered from an older guide may no longer be right. Check the current amount in the store rather than relying on memory.

It also helps to decide whether you will spend again soon. A larger pack is the better fit if you expect several purchases, while the smallest pack suits a single item.
