Audi A4 Price: MSRP, Trims & Real-World Cost

Audi's compact luxury sedan changed names after the 2025 model year. The car many buyers still call the A4 continues as the A5 sedan, so a search for the current A4 price leads to A5 pricing. This page covers both: what the final A4 cost, and what its successor costs now.

That matters if you are shopping used. A 2025 or earlier A4 is a different purchase from a new A5, and the price gap between them is easier to understand once you see the trim lineup side by side. The 2025 A4 came in three equipment levels, Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige, each offered with the standard look or the sportier S line appearance. The "40 TFSI" and "45 TFSI" badges refer to the engine version, with the 45 generally indicating the higher-output turbo four-cylinder. All models listed were quattro, Audi's all-wheel-drive system.

The stack is easy to read. Premium is the entry point, Premium Plus adds features, and Prestige is the fully equipped version. Moving to an S line trim with the 45 TFSI engine costs more than the matching 40 TFSI trim.

Like every new car, the A4 carried a destination charge on top of its MSRP. It appears on the window sticker and applies equally to every trim.

When you compare a used A4 with an A5 quote, remember that a new car will also carry sales tax, registration, and a dealer documentation fee.

Audi sells the A5 sedan as the replacement for the A4 sedan. It is the car you will find at a dealer if you ask for a new A4 today. The 2026 A5 sedan is priced in the same three equipment steps as the old car.

Compare the A5 figures with the 2025 A4 table above. The A5 starts higher than the A4 did, so a new car costs more than the one it replaces. • Condition and history. Ask for service records and a vehicle history report, and have an independent shop inspect the car.
• Repair costs. Parts and labor on a European luxury car usually cost more than on a mainstream sedan, so budget for maintenance.

The trim table gives you the baseline, but a few things shift the figure you pay:

• Packages. Technology, sport, and cold-weather packages bundle features and add to the sticker.
• Paint and wheels. Premium paint and larger wheels are extra-cost items.
• Dealer pricing. Some dealers discount, others hold at MSRP, depending on regional demand and inventory.
• Financing and leasing. Audi offers lease and loan deals that can make the monthly payment lower than the sticker alone suggests. Look at the total cost over the term, and not only the payment.
