Kia Carnival Price: MSRP, Trims & Real-World Cost

Kia sells the Carnival as an MPV, which in practice means a minivan with SUV-style looks. It competes with the Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, and Chrysler Pacifica, and for 2027 Kia sells it in both gas and hybrid form.

Pricing is organized around five gas trims and four hybrid trims. The hybrid skips the base LX, so the cheapest hybrid is the HEV LXS. All figures below are MSRP before destination.

The LX opens the range at $37,490. The LXS is $39,490, and the EX is $41,690. Near the top, the SX is $46,590 and the SX Prestige is $51,590.

The big price jumps come late in the lineup. The distance between the EX and SX, and again between the SX and SX Prestige, is larger than the gap between LX, LXS, and EX. If you want a lot of equipment without the top price, the EX is the trim to look at first.

The hybrid trims are priced separately.

The HEV LXS is $41,490, the HEV EX is $43,690, the HEV SX is $48,590, and the HEV SX Prestige is $53,590.

Set each hybrid beside its gas twin. The HEV LXS against the LXS, the HEV EX against the EX, and so on. That difference is the premium for the hybrid system, and you can weigh it against your yearly mileage and local fuel prices. Kia charges $1,545 for destination and handling on the Carnival. It is separate from every trim price above and appears on the window sticker.

It depends on how you use the van.

• High mileage, lots of short trips. A hybrid system tends to pay back faster when you drive a lot, particularly in stop-and-go traffic.
• Low mileage. A gas Carnival keeps the purchase price down, and the fuel savings take longer to add up.
• Resale and incentives. Some states and utilities have offered rebates on hybrids. Check current programs before you assume one applies.

Because the hybrid starts at the LXS, buyers who want the lowest sticker price on any Carnival end up with the gas LX.

• LX. The lowest entry price, good for families that need space more than features.
• LXS. One step up. It is also where the hybrid begins, so it is the easiest trim for a direct gas-versus-hybrid comparison.
• EX. A popular middle point with more equipment than the LXS.
• SX and SX Prestige. The most equipment, and the highest prices in both gas and hybrid form.

Look at each trim's standard features on Kia's site. A family that rarely uses the extras on the top trims can save a good deal by staying in the middle.

• Destination, which every new Carnival carries.
• State and local taxes, plus registration.
• Dealer documentation fees.
• Accessories, protection packages, and other add-ons.
• Dealer markup, when supply is tight in your area.
• Kia incentives or special finance rates that come and go.

Minivans do not always see the same markup as trucks and large SUVs, but high-demand trims and hybrids can still sell above MSRP at some dealers. Ask for an itemized quote that lists the vehicle price, destination, add-ons, and fees. Request quotes from more than one dealer and compare the full totals, not the monthly payments alone.

• Insurance. Rates depend on your location, record, and the trim.
• Fuel. Costs depend on whether you choose gas or hybrid and on how you drive.
• Maintenance. Ask about service intervals and what the factory warranty covers.
• Tires. Wheel size changes by trim, which affects replacement cost.
