Miata Price: MSRP, Trims & Real-World Cost

The Miata has been the affordable two-seat roadster for decades, and Mazda still builds it in a few simple configurations. You pick a trim, a soft top or a folding hard top called the RF, and a manual or automatic transmission. Each choice moves the price in a predictable way.

The trim prices below are Mazda's MSRPs before destination. A later section shows how the price changed after a September 2026 increase, because the all-in figure at the dealer is now higher than the numbers Mazda first published.

The entry point is the Sport with a six-speed manual at $30,430. The Club soft top steps up to $33,930.

The Grand Touring soft top is $35,730 with the manual and $36,650 with the six-speed automatic. The RF versions cost more than the soft tops: the Grand Touring RF is $38,450 with the manual and $39,420 with the automatic. The Club RF is the most expensive on the sheet at $41,900.

That last number is easy to misread. The Club RF costs more than the Grand Touring RF, so the sportier Club is not the cheaper way into the folding hard top. Check the equipment list for each trim at a Mazda dealer to see what the extra money buys.

The soft top is the lighter, simpler, cheaper roof. The RF has a power-folding hard top that changes the look and adds cost. Both are open-air cars, so the real question is whether you want the extra expense for the RF's coupe-like profile.

On transmission, the automatic costs more than the manual on the Grand Touring. Drivers who plan to use the car in heavy traffic sometimes pay that difference. Those who bought a Miata for the shifter often do not.

The destination and handling charge is $1,315, and it applies since August 11. Mazda sells a few option packages and paint choices on top of the trim price. The Brembo, BBS, and Recaro package for the Club soft top is $5,050. Premium paint colors are $595, and tan Nappa leather on the Grand Touring is $300.

Those add-ons are where a Miata's price can drift upward quickly. A Club with the performance package and premium paint costs noticeably more than the base number suggests.

The Sport six-speed manual comes to $31,945. The RF Grand Touring with the automatic comes to $41,035. Those are the figures to compare when a dealer quotes you a total, since they already include the delivery charge.

• Ask whether the quote includes destination. Some listings show MSRP only.
• Match the trim and roof. An RF and a soft top are separate price tiers.
• Look for dealer add-ons. Paint protection, nitrogen tires, and similar extras are optional.
• Confirm the model year. A late-model 2025 may be discounted compared with a 2026.
• Test drive both roofs if you can. Cabin noise and headroom differ.

A Miata is a small, simple car, and many owners find it inexpensive to run. Insurance, though, depends on your age, record, and location, so get a quote before you buy. Tires on the performance trims are a place where costs run higher, because grippy tires wear faster and cost more to replace.
