How Much Does It Cost to Add a Line to Verizon? (Price Guide)
Price for each line
$30 – $95/mo
Adding a line on Verizon's Unlimited plans costs $30 – $95/mo for each line with Auto Pay, depending on the plan and the number of lines on the account.
Verizon prices its Unlimited plans by the line, and the rate drops as the account grows. That means adding a line does not simply tack on the price of the first one. The new line takes the rate for the larger account, and the lines already on the account can move to that same rate too.
The plan prices below come from Verizon, taken from an archived copy dated Oct 14, 2026. Fees and the Simplicity Plan come from Verizon. Verizon changes plans, discounts and fees often, so confirm what applies to your account before you add a line.

What does it cost to add a line to Verizon?
Start with the plan your account is on. Verizon's myPlan lineup has three Unlimited tiers: Welcome, Plus and Ultimate. Each lists a price for one, two, three and four or more lines. All of them assume Auto Pay with paper-free billing.
Unlimited Ultimate
Unlimited Ultimate price per line (with Auto Pay)
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Ultimate, 1 line (per line) | $95/mo |
| Ultimate, 2 lines (per line) | $85/mo |
| Ultimate, 3 lines (per line) | $70/mo |
| Ultimate, 4+ lines (per line) | $60/mo |
Ultimate is the top tier. A single line costs $95/mo, and the rate falls to $60/mo for each line once the account has four or more.
Unlimited Plus
Unlimited Plus price per line (with Auto Pay)
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Plus, 1 line (per line) | $80/mo |
| Plus, 2 lines (per line) | $70/mo |
| Plus, 3 lines (per line) | $55/mo |
| Plus, 4+ lines (per line) | $45/mo |
Plus sits in the middle. One line costs $80/mo, and four or more lines cost $45/mo each.
Unlimited Welcome
Unlimited Welcome price per line (with Auto Pay)
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Welcome, 1 line (per line) | $65/mo |
| Welcome, 2 lines (per line) | $55/mo |
| Welcome, 3 lines (per line) | $40/mo |
| Welcome, 4+ lines (per line) | $30/mo |
Welcome is the lowest tier. One line costs $65/mo, and four or more lines cost $30/mo each.
How to work out your new monthly bill
Take the plan you have, find the per-line rate for the new total number of lines, and multiply. If you have two lines on Plus and add a third, the account moves to the three-line rate of $55/mo for each line. Because Verizon's published rates are per line, the whole bill changes.
Mixing tiers on one account is allowed under myPlan, which means a new line does not have to match the plan on your other lines. Taxes and fees are extra.
Simplicity Plan: a flat rate for each line
In June 2026 Verizon launched the Simplicity Plan, a single flat-rate option without tiers.
Simplicity Plan
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Simplicity Plan per line (Auto Pay) | $45/mo |
| Simplicity Plan per line with switcher discount | $30/mo |
Source: Verizon: Plan comparison guide
Verizon lists $45/mo with Auto Pay. A lower rate of $30/mo applies with the current switcher discount, which is meant for people bringing a number from another carrier. Because the rate is flat, adding lines does not lower the price of the others the way the myPlan tiers do. If you move one line to Simplicity, check whether Verizon requires the other lines on the account to move as well. CNET reported that it does.
Fees when you add a line
Fees
| Item | Price |
|---|---|
| Activation fee per new line (without Loyalty opt-in) | $40 |
| Extra cost per line without Auto Pay | $10/mo |
Sources: Verizon: Unlimited plans (Jun 2026 archive); Verizon: Plan comparison guide
Verizon lists an activation fee of $40 when you add a line without opting in to its Loyalty program. The carrier says opting in waives activation and upgrade fees. Going without Auto Pay costs $10/mo more for each line, so enrolling matters if you want the listed prices.
Promotions that change the math
Verizon often runs account credits for larger accounts. CNET reported that Ultimate can come down to $57.50/mo for each line on four lines when a promotional credit applies. Promotional credits usually depend on keeping the line and the plan, so ask what happens if you change plans later. Phone offers, trade-in deals and device payments are separate from the plan price.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to add a line to Verizon?
It depends on the plan and the new line count. Verizon's Unlimited plans range from $30/mo to $95/mo for each line with Auto Pay. Simplicity is a flat $45/mo.
Does adding a line change what I pay for my other lines?
On the myPlan tiers, yes. The per-line rate is set by the total number of lines, so the existing lines move to the new rate. Simplicity is flat.
Is there a fee to add a line?
Verizon lists $40 unless you have opted in to Loyalty. Check the current terms before you add the line.
Can I add a line without Auto Pay?
Yes, but each line costs $10/mo more. Verizon ties the discount to paper-free billing and specific payment methods.
Should I check the price on Verizon's site first?
Yes. Plans and offers change, and an account manager or Verizon's checkout will show the exact charge for your account.
