Crossfit Membership Cost: Membership Prices, Fees & Plans

Updated  9 sources

Typical unlimited price

$150 – $200/mo

CrossFit gyms, called boxes, are independently owned affiliates. There is no national price list. Every box chooses its own rates, so the same unlimited membership can cost noticeably more in a big coastal city than in a smaller town. The most useful way to read CrossFit pricing is to start with the averages, then look at what real gyms charge.

This page keeps those two things separate. National averages come from independent guides, mainly Lessons.com and Moonshot CrossFit. Gym prices come from each gym's own pricing page, with the city shown in each label. All figures carry a check date of Oct 14, 2026, and gyms change their rates, so confirm with the box you plan to join.

National CrossFit membership averages

Independent guides agree on a broad band. The first source below reports typical unlimited rates and two averages attributed to the gym software company Gymdesk, and a gym's own guide gives a wider range.

National averages

Item Typical range Price Relative price range
Average unlimited membership (Gymdesk) —$186/mo
Average 3-classes-per-week plan (Gymdesk) —$154/mo
Typical unlimited range, gym guide $150 – $250/mo—

The wider range in the last row reflects how much location and gym size matter. A small-town box and a big-city box can sit at opposite ends of the same band.

CrossFit unlimited membership prices by gym

These are published month-to-month or contract rates from individual affiliates. Where a gym lists more than one contract length, the label says which one applies.

Unlimited membership by gym

Item Price
CrossFit Richardson, TX: unlimited, 12-month contract $150/mo
CrossFit Richardson, TX: unlimited, 6-month contract $175/mo
East Dallas CrossFit, Dallas, TX: unlimited, month to month $180/mo
CrossFit Central, Houston, TX: unlimited $205/mo
CrossFit Downtown Atlanta, GA: unlimited monthly $215/mo
CrossFit OKC, Edmond, OK: unlimited $169/mo
CrossFit Milpitas, CA: unlimited $225/mo
Jewel City CrossFit, Glendale, CA: unlimited, month to month $235/mo

Contract length changes the price. Richardson, Texas lists a lower rate on a 12-month contract than on a 6-month contract, and one Glendale, California gym lists lower contract rates than its month-to-month price. Committing for longer usually brings the monthly rate down, but it also locks you in.

Limited-class plans

Many gyms offer a plan with a set number of classes each week for less than unlimited. If you train three days a week or fewer, this can save money.

Limited-class plans

Item Price
CrossFit Central, Houston, TX: 3 classes per week $180/mo
CrossFit Milpitas, CA: 3 classes per week $200/mo

The gap between limited and unlimited plans differs by gym, so compare both rates at the box you are considering rather than assuming unlimited is always the better deal.

Drop-in fees and start-up costs

Beyond the monthly rate, some boxes charge for a trial class, an intro course, or a required first month. The table shows the typical drop-in range and several gym-specific fees.

Drop-ins and start-up fees

Item Typical range Price Relative price range
Drop-in class, typical range $20 – $25—
Jewel City CrossFit, Glendale, CA: drop-in —$25
CrossFit Richardson, TX: required Basics month —$200
Jewel City CrossFit, Glendale, CA: 1-on-1 foundation course (4 private classes) —$200

Sources: Lessons.com: CrossFit cost; CrossFit Richardson (TX): Passes and plans; Jewel City CrossFit (Glendale, CA): Plans and passes

Treat intro courses as part of your first-month cost. Some gyms require a beginner course before you can join regular classes, and that course may be billed separately or folded into your first month.

What changes the cost of CrossFit

  • City and local rent: coastal and big-city boxes tend to charge more.
  • Class frequency: unlimited plans cost more than capped plans.
  • Contract length: longer commitments often lower the monthly rate.
  • Start-up fees: required intro courses and setup fees raise your first-month cost.
  • Extras: personal training and specialty classes are usually billed on top.

How to compare CrossFit gyms

Ask each gym for its full price sheet, not only the headline unlimited rate. Ask about the beginner course, any setup or equipment fee, how cancellation works, and whether holds are allowed. Visit during a trial class if the gym offers one, and compare coaching and class size as well as price, because a lower rate may come with larger classes.
