HP Laptop Price: Retail, Deals & Price History

Updated  5 sources

Starting price

$499.99 – $1,549.99

HP sells laptops across a wide range, from budget everyday models to premium thin-and-light and Snapdragon machines. The price you see on HP.com is usually a starting price for the base configuration, so the final cost depends on the processor, memory, storage and display you choose.

The prices on this page are starting prices that HP announced for its newest models, taken from HP's own press releases and from coverage that reprinted them. They are not the price of every HP laptop, and HP also sells older models, business laptops and gaming laptops that are not listed here. Prices and availability change, so confirm the configuration and price on HP.com or at a retailer before you buy.

The OmniBook 3 Series starts at $499.99 and is the lowest-priced HP laptop in this list. The OmniBook 5 14 starts at $699.99 in HP's October 2026 announcement, per HP Newsroom. An earlier OmniBook 5 Series announcement listed $849.99, so the newer model has a lower starting price.

Higher up, the Googlebook 14 starts at $1,199.99, and the OmniBook Ultra 14 starts at $1,549.99. The Ultra 14 (G2) with Intel's newer processors starts at $1,699.99 direct from HP, per Windows Central. The Snapdragon-powered OmniBook X 14 is listed at $2,999.99, and the OmniBook Ultra 16 at $3,199.99.

What affects the price of an HP laptop?

  • The product line. OmniBook models cost more as the number rises or the name moves to Ultra.
  • The processor. Snapdragon, Intel and AMD versions of a laptop are priced differently.
  • Memory and storage. HP.com lets you configure these, and each upgrade raises the price.
  • The display. OLED and higher resolution panels are usually found on pricier models.
  • The seller. HP.com, Best Buy and other retailers can list different configurations and promotions.

Starting price versus what you actually pay

A starting price describes the cheapest configuration HP sells for that line, and the laptop you want may be a step up. In a review of an earlier OmniBook 5, Windows Central noted that building a laptop on HP.com cost more than the prebuilt model sold at a retailer, so look at the ready-made configurations first. Taxes and shipping are added at checkout, and some models launch at one retailer before others.

Some prices in this list were announced months before the laptop went on sale. HP listed the OmniBook Ultra 16 and OmniBook X 14 for sale on October 16, 2026, and said the models would also be available at retailers. Check availability for the configuration you want.

Which HP laptop should you look at?

Think about what you will do with the laptop. A basic OmniBook 3 or 5 covers email, documents, streaming and schoolwork. The Ultra line is aimed at people who want thin, lightweight machines. The larger Ultra 16 and X 14 cost much more and target heavy creative and AI workloads, according to HP's announcements. For gaming, HP sells separate Victus and OMEN lines that this list does not cover.

When to buy

HP and retailers run promotions around back-to-school, Black Friday and product launches. Launch prices tend to hold for a while, and discounts often come later. If you can wait, a previous-generation model may cost less. Compare the specs rather than the model name, because a discounted older machine can have an older processor or less memory.
