DashPass generally removes the delivery fee and reduces the service fee on eligible orders that meet a minimum subtotal. The minimum differs between restaurants and grocery or retail orders, and not every merchant on the app is eligible. Look for the DashPass label on a store's page before you count on the discount.

Some promotions have bundled other perks with the membership over time, such as streaming offers or credits. Those change, so treat any extra benefit as a bonus that may not be there next year.

The membership does not remove everything. Taxes and tips still apply. Small order fees may still show up when your subtotal falls under the threshold. Menu markups, where a restaurant charges more on the app than in person, are also not affected. Orders from merchants outside the program pay the regular fee structure.

If not, paying per order may be cheaper.

The yearly plan makes sense mainly for people who expect to keep ordering all year. The monthly plan is easier to start and stop, which suits people who order heavily only in some seasons.
