Paramount+ is Paramount's streaming service, home to CBS shows, Paramount Pictures movies, Nickelodeon and MTV series, original programming, and live sports such as NFL games on CBS. It has two tiers, Essential and Premium, and each one comes as a monthly or an annual plan.

Paramount+ raised its US prices in January 2026. The figures on this page come from the price list reported by TechRadar in its coverage of that change, and we checked them on Oct 11, 2026. Streaming prices change often, so confirm the current rate on the official Paramount+ site before you sign up.

Paramount+ Essential

Essential is the entry tier, with ads. It covers most of the on-demand library and some live sports. It suits viewers who mainly want to stream CBS and Paramount series and movies and do not mind commercials. Essential does not include your live local CBS station, so it is a weaker choice if you watch CBS programming as it airs.

Paramount+ Premium

Premium, at $13.99/mo, removes ads from most on-demand content and adds your live local CBS station plus downloads for offline viewing. Some live content may still carry ads. If you want to watch your local CBS station live inside the app, Premium is the tier to check first.

The channel and sports lineup can vary by market and by rights deals, so check the official plan comparison for what each tier covers where you live.

Both tiers come with a yearly option. At current prices, an annual plan costs less than paying monthly for twelve months.

Essential annual costs $89.99/yr, and Premium annual costs $139.99/yr. The catch is that you pay up front for the full year. If you only want Paramount+ for one football season or a single series, a monthly plan you cancel afterward may cost less in total.

Essential went from $7.99/mo to $8.99/mo, and Premium went from $12.99/mo to $13.99/mo. Annual plans also moved to the prices shown in the annual table.

Existing subscribers typically move to new pricing at a later billing date after an email notice, while new subscribers pay the new rate from the start. If you are not sure which rate you are on, your account page shows your plan and next billing amount.

The advertised price may not match what appears on your statement. Depending on your state and city, sales tax or local fees may apply to streaming subscriptions.

Paramount+ is also sold through other companies, such as app stores, streaming device platforms, wireless carriers, and retailer memberships.
